The
Back to Jerusalem vision is not a new vision. It was first given to a Chinese
church called the “Jesus Family” in the late 1920s, and later to several
different church groups in the 1930s and 40s. It is a vision of evangelism in
the major unreached nations of the world.
Here in this history section we examine some of the fascinating experiences of
these early pioneers as they attempted to take the Gospel, on foot, through the
Islamic world back to Jerusalem. We will see how different groups and
individuals responded to this vision, and how God intervened in their lives to
glorify Himself. We also read about the suffering and persecution many of them
suffered, and what happened with these faithful believers.
